Undercover Abuser

Undercover Abuser

by Olivia Meyers

Questioning if anyone cares
can they really see your tears
Not knowing anymore who's the oppressor
the pain inside starts to pressure
The disstress on your face will begin showing
unknowing next where your life will be going
Your thoughts become vexed
as the abuse becomes more perplexed
You begin to feel as if your head's in a noose
as you're forced to become a recluse
Not knowing anymore what is real
as the abuser to others attempts to look more ideal
You try to fight back by becoming more contempt
but he believes the basic morals to him are exempt
He portrays to himself to be a god
as he expects others to stand aside and be awed
His remarks to family are always snide
whenever views start to collide
It doesn't matter what you do he'll always accuse
just for a reason to leave a bruise
They'll do what it takes to keep you secluded
and in decisions you're never included
They'll do whatever they can to beat you down
as long as others aren't around
Whatever you do it's always wrong
scars become lifelong
Your walls start to crumble
as you get used to the never ending struggle
Your foundation of security starts to crack
as you're strained from another smack
In the house you've been contained
left to feel very drained
You no longer know who is this louse
you once believed you would call your spouse
He too, when you met in the beginning wore the veil
to guide you along his secret rail
He put on his charm
not to raise your alarm
He places other people in a haze
covers his true self and loves to take praise
He sits in public with a disguise
while his plans he continues to revise
He puts on a good front to keep from discover
that what he shows to them is undercover
This abuser, he is a coward
uses maltreatment just to feel more empowered

***The End***
